Mahodaya, formerly known as “Amanikan,” is an authentic Phinisi vessel meticulously crafted by the master wooden boat builders of eastern Indonesia, whose exceptional artistry has gained UNESCO recognition as a “Masterpiece” of traditional Indonesian cultural heritage. Originally commissioned in 2009 by Adrian Zecha, the visionary founder behind renowned luxury hotel brands such as Amanresorts and Azerai Resorts, Mahodaya combines masterful boat-building traditions with refined design. Its interiors were designed by the late Jaya Ibrahim, celebrated for his work on iconic global properties, ensuring an elegant and timeless onboard atmosphere. Since its launch, this luxurious yacht has sailed extensively across the Indonesian archipelago, welcoming numerous distinguished international guests.

In 2019, Mahodaya underwent a significant technological upgrade which included the installation of the state-of-the-art Blue Sky satellite tracking system, Iridium onboard communications, and the latest navigation and radar equipment, providing enhanced safety and connectivity.
